It is a beautiful Monday morning outside. I've had a few video meetings this morning, and already had Puddin out for her first couple of walks. Not to mention that I have already fed Puddin and Joey the Cat. And gave Joey the Cat gave them both their morning rub downs. Which is when I just sit in the kitchen floor and spend some time with them. And I enjoy that time. Plus, it lets me think about what all I need to do for the day. Puddin can be stubborn. This is how she acts when we have not been to the Kennel Yard and Played Tug-of-War with her favorite ball. Her favorite thing to do. I have been working on updating my Web, DNS, and Email Servers. Along with changing one over to a new Dedicated Server. Which I brewed up the new Ubuntu Server last week and have had it prepped for a few days now.
I always go ahead and get my server stable and secured, while thinking about my plan. Which I have decided to go to the Docker and Kubernetes Containers for my each of my servers. (Web, Email, and DNS) I have been using Containers for applications and realized that my entire server should be running with them. So, now I have the task of converting all my websites and servers over to them. Thats 12 of each server, in case you were wondering.
On top of this, I have my Social Media Accounts, and 4 Reddit Communities that I am attempting to keep up to date. Which is why I feel like Docker/Kubernetes Containers are the way to go. Streaming, along with being more secure, and easy to balance traffic. Now, I do not have crazy traffic on most of my website's, but there are time which one of my clients may have a sale or something going that drives a lot of traffic. Or, if one of my Videos does good, and I have a link for more info on the Video, then traffic will go up fast. With Containers, I can manage these loads much faster.
Most of you don't care about any of what I just mentioned, and I am not trying to talk like a nerd, just sharing in for a few of my friends who know exactly what I am talking about. Plus, I may have been whining about how much I have loaded my plate. Spring Training has started, and when Football is live, I put most of what I mentioned on hold. Another reason for Containers, is I can manage all my Servers more efficiently, and from anywhere. Like driving down Highway 64, from Giles County, Tennessee, to Fayetteville, Tennessee. I created the above video Saturday, May 20, 2023, just after my training video of Puddin, and before the Puddin video listed above. During football season I stay busy helping my brothers. It is something we all enjoy, and it is my way of helping them out. Coach OC and Big Joe are great coaches and they both put in lots of extra hours, that no one is aware of. When it comes to the technical end, that is what I do. Coach OC just calls me and says: "Don can you take care of this, or we need to do this." And I am on it.
I have been videoing practices and games for Coach OC since he was at Lee High School in Huntsville, Alabama in 2002. Which most of you are aware of and know that we were the first High School to have Video on the Sidelines. It was 2013, at Buckhorn High School in New Market, Alabama. And I was coaching the kickers. I still kick myself in the butt for not capitalizing on that. I knew it was going to be big. Bella was young, and my plate was loaded to the brim. Yet, I should have cashed in on that technology. But I digress.
Here it is 2023, and we are nearing the end of Spring Training, and ramping up for Summer Practices. My goal is to document the entire season with videos on my Social Media platforms, while helping promote our Athletes at the same time. When you make something a Win-Win for both sides, it always goes well. Something I have always been aware of and live by.
I do it all free of charge and just like my brothers put in lots of hours that no one is aware of, so do I. For example: Yesterday, and Today, I am sending College Recruiters emails with our Athletes information. And establishing contact with as many of them as possible. Because we have some great Athletes, who deserve a chance to play at the next level. Along with doing the above mentioned, I am walking Puddin, setting up my new Web, Email, and DNS servers with Containers, creating a couple of Videos for my Social Media platforms, updating a couple of my current websites, writing this for my blog, and had a few video conference meetings this morning before 10:00 am. I even try to check all my Social Media accounts for comments or messages. Which is usually late night, while I am slowing down, and lying in bed. Or, while I am out walking with Puddin.
I am attempting to keep my Blog up to date, and you can see that I am about a week in-between each post. And I keep telling myself that from this Post on, I am going to do one each day. I know most people may never read a word of what I am saying, but it helps my mind, and I am at least leaving something for my daughter and future family members to read. I would give anything to come across something like this my dad, or mom did. Especially my Granddaddy and Grandma. But they never even knew what the internet was. I do have a stack of songs my Granddad and Grandma wrote, and I read them often.
It's now 11:08 am, and time for me to wrap up this post and cook myself some breakfast. Then I will take Puddin for a walk, and most likely create a video for my Social Media platforms. My last one was promoting the Bobcats 7 on 7 Pool Play Tournament, and it will be the one just below this. I created it yesterday evening, just as the Sun was getting ready to set, and while I was walking Puddin. Seems that is when I do most of my Videos. I will have Puddin's lead in one hand, and my Phone in the other, working on a Video. So, now you know how and when I create my Videos. My long form videos are created on my system, and I use my Phone for most of my short videos. And like I said, I am usually out walking Puddin when I am creating them.
