TSSAA VOTES YES ON TRANSFER PORTAL with QUESTIONABLE STIPULATIONS in DOC NEXT LIVESTREAM

February 3, 2025 the TSSAA voted NO on the Transfer Portal bylaw. In a recent move, the TSSAA voted yes on 1 transfer, with stipulations that now has Tennessee Lawmakers wanting to step in.   Coming up in Todays Live Stream, DOC dives into this newest vote, and looks at the Tennessee Lawmakers who are pushing for TSSAA to change their current rule, again.

READ WHAT LAWMAKERS ARE SAYING RECENTLY
Currently, the TSSAA voted that all athletes are elgible to transfer 1 time, if it is for academics, or for mental reasons. Yet, it can not be for Athletic reasons.  As it stands, 8th graders can choose what High School they are going to go to, yet they are stuck with that school, once they start their Freshman Year.  This is not fair to Athletes.  And, it may even be unconstitutional.  With many saying that TSSAA may face a host of Lawsuits, if they do not get their act together.
It should not be up to any governing body to determine what is best for Kids.  That is the Kids parents choice.  I could go with 1 transfer a year. Even, just 1 transfer overall.  With no stipulations.
Here is an example I will share in my Live Show, and Kevin Bedford is who brought this to my attention. EXAMPLE to THINK ABOUT:
A kid goes to Brentwood Academy, and during his first season, realizes that he is not good enough to make the Starting Team.  And, he may never be good enough. But, if he goes to Brentwood, then he has a shot at playing next Season, and even the following seasons.  That kid should be able to move.  Just like anything in life, all options should be available, if they can better that person.
Another Example:  An elite running back goes to a Team and during his first season a new Coach moves in. This Coach is a Spread, run and gun Coach. In other words, he spreads the field, and likes to throw.  The running back will not get the ball much, and hence, he want get the chance to show his real skills.  He should be able to move.
The none follow rule is bogus, as well.  If a Coach leaves, the kids should be able to follow, if they want to.  It is a violation of their constitutional rights, not to be able to.  Think about it now. Put you hating on the side burner.  If his parents decide they want their kid to follow the Coach, and have the money to do so, then it should not be left up to someone else to decide.

Lets take Alcoa.  Most people believe they are recruiting. But, Alcoa does not have to recruit.  The players want to come play for a Team that gives them the best chance at being successful in their chosen profession.  Some Coaches just put in the needed hours, to say he/she is a Coach. Then, you have the Winning Coaches, who work their tales off, and push their Players to be the best they can be.

Point blank, this is as the rule currently stands, it is a violation of the Parents and Kids Constitutional Rights. State and Federal.  Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness!  Do I need to write that in all CAPS for you!  Why does the TSSAA not put a law in place that says a Chess player can not transfer just to play chess. Or, even a debate club student.  I am sure it happens.

Sure, they use the "We are just protecting the KIDS"  BULL####!  You can believe it is about money.  How much money you think TSSAA makes off fines?  For one, we will never know. They do not disclose this info.  But, they should have to.

As you can see, I am fired up about this Topic.  It is going to be a great show, and I have done my research, so I have some great things to share.  I will be adding all the Lawmakers Contact info here, so that you can send your support, or non support emails.  But remember, LIFE, LIBERITY, and THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS!  Its the parents choice!

I think you will like this show, and I am excited about it.  I have a good one planned next, as well.  It has to do with all Time GREAT, UT Lady VOLS COACH, MRS. PAT SUMMIT!  Oh yeah, I found a great story to share.
