The Issue SIGN DOC's PETITION
I bear witness to the unjust rules imposed on our young athletes in Tennessee. I have seen kids forced to sit out a year after transferring schools—denied participation solely due to their athletic status—while other students, such as band members and academic achievers, are able to transfer and participate without issue, often due to connections. This is outright discrimination against athletes.
In a free country like America, parents should have the right to choose the school their child attends, and the pursuit of better opportunities should never be hindered.
Representative Scott Cepicky, supported by Senator Adam Lowe, has introduced bills HB0025 and SB0016. These bills represent a crucial step toward fairness and could put an end to the existing discrimination against student-athletes. They would prevent any school receiving state funds from being a member of an association that does not support a fair transfer rule, leveling the playing field for all students.
The time has come to address the systemic bias present in the current transfer rules, which unjustly impact our young athletes. This is about more than just athletics; it is about ensuring every child has the right to pursue a brighter future without barriers.
We urge you to sign this petition in support of Tennessee's Bills HB0025 and SB0016, advocating for fairness for all students in Tennessee schools. Your signature can make a significant difference in these children's lives. Together, let’s end discrimination and promote equality for every student and Athletes.
Thank you for taking the time to read my petition and I urge you to help All Tennessee Athletes, and Support current Legislation to help make a positive change. Thank you.
UPDATE ON CURRENT STATUS
The current Bills HB0025 and SB0016 do support a one time transfer, however this transfer must be due to non Athletic Reasons. The Bill list the TSSAA most recent ruling, almost word for word. This is discrimination against Athletes. With the wording directly naming Athletes. What this Bill will also help, is it will hold TSSAA accountable for their Actions. Or, that is what they Lawmakers are saying.
TSSAA clearly has a monopoly on High School Sports in Tennessee. We will see if Tennessee Lawmakers really have Our kids best interest at heart.
Tennessee Senate Videos on SB0016 -Watch them all, and see what has been said. I had the understanding that this Bill and HB0025 was for Tennessee Athletes, but it is not. It is to put what TSSAA has already ruled, into Law. Which, could help Athletes, if it does what I believe it does. This should make TSSAA liable for their rulings. As I have said, up till now they have been able to dodge litigation, because TSSAA has been considered a 501c3.

We are close to the final vote. If voted in, the Law will take effect July 1, 2025. This is big for all Tennessee Athletes, and I know that many are waiting the outcome.
While watching the proceedings for these Bills, I have been able to get a better look at how Our process works. Either way it goes on this Bill, I am still happy we have this process, and thank all those who have signed Our Petition. Never hesitate to contact with any questions.
NOTE FROM DOC
After spending a few weeks watching Our Lawmakers, I have been able to gain a better understanding of how everything works. Sure, we learned it in school, but that has been years ago. One thing I can say is, they use the fact that no one pays attention, in their favor. Believe me, if you started paying better attention to this, you would see many things. I will leave it at that.
I still do not know how I felt like these Bills were to help Atheltes in Tennessee, but that is not the case. They still discriminate against Atheltes, by pointing them out. Band members, cheerleaders, and anyone else can transfer, and never be penalized. Yet, the TSSAA points out that everyone can transfer one time, unless it is for Athletic reasons.
TSSAA clearly has a monopoly on Tennessee High School Sports. Not just one Senator, or Representative has pointed this out. Yet, because they are a multi million dollar business, they can still play the game, and keep things in their favor. One day, the right Senator, Representative, or Lawyer will step up, and do the right thing.
As of now, all that has happened is a lot of talk, and shown our youth how money can make anything go your way. Why don't the State organize an Association for High School Sports? Why don't anyone else see this.
I am an older guy now, and have no kids who are going to be playing sports in Tennessee, so pushing this issue has no benefit for me. Either way the vote goes tomorrow, I feel like maybe it has reached the ears of some who might be able to make a change.
I think Senator Lowe, Representative Cepicky, Senator Hensley, Senator Haile, and the others are aware of the corruption in TSSAA. I do feel like we are lucky to have some good men, like these, in Nashville. I was able to see the ones that TSSAA has reached. I am sure they had some of the Senators, and even Representative ask questions, that TSSAA informed them to ask. They have mastered the GAME, and you can believe it is not in their favor, for them to have to finally answer for their bad, and unjust rulings. No one should be above the Law. And no business, either. But, TSSAA has had the Luxuary, for many years. That is not slander, that is FACT. Watch the proceedings, and you will see this for yourself.
Again, either way the vote goes, I have no ill feeling toward anyone. I just stood up for what I thought was right, and tried to make a difference for all Tennessee Athletes. I am just a small town, guy from the Country, who likes creating videos, and walks with my dog. I enjoy writing, too. I am sure the odds of your reading this is really slim, but if you have found my website, and stumbled across this, then I thank you for reading, and I wish you the very best. As I wish everyone now. Never hesitate to let me know how I can improve my videos, my website, and even myself. I strive to learn daily, and I am very thankful GOD has given me another shot at doing something positive with my life.
